Coffee has been growing in India for more than 300 years. From mystical beginnings to the current day coffee shops, the journey has been a very interesting one. Get a glimpse into Kaveri Coffee Works’ journey alongside that of the ever changing coffee landscape of India’s past.
India Coffee Works turns into New India Coffee works and ends its journey for the Rao family in 2010. Even though the family business came to a halt, India Coffee Works and everything it stood for lingered in Tanya’s soul. A little soul searching is all it took and Kaveri Coffee Works was born, far from its homeland, right here in the Bay Area, California.

The story of Kaveri Coffee Works is a very personal one. I had been dreaming of starting my own business for over 5 years. While I had some ideas, I felt I had to gain more experience before I could start something on my own. Three years ago, when my first child, Neel, was born, my life’s priorities and perspective changed completely. The time had come to turn that entrepreneurial dream into a reality.
